Jair Bolsonaro, also known as Jair Messias Bolsonaro, is the 38th President of Brazil. Jair was elected as the President of Brazil since October 2018. He is famous Brazilan Politician and a retired military officer. In his political career, from 1991 to 2018, he served the country’s Chamber of Deputies and represented the state of Rio de Janeiro. Jair Bolsonaro is a right-wing nationalist along with a law-and-order advocate. In his military career, Jair Bolsonaro was the army for the military government which ruled over Brazil from the year of 1964 to 1985. He won the presidential election of Brazil in October 2018 with 57,797,847 votes. In 1988, his political career began as he was the municipal councillor for Rio de Janeiro in 1990.
The 38th President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, was born on March 21st, 1955, in Campinas. His father name was Percy Geraldo Bolsonaro and mother was Olinda Bonturi Bolsonaro. His family was the descendant of Italian immigrants who arrived in Brazil after the long fought World War II. He grew up in a small town named Eldorado which was present in the Atlantic rainforest of Brazil. His father was a dentist. In 1977, Jair attended the Preparatory School of the Brazilian Army. In the same year, he got graduated from Agulhas Negras Military Academy. After his graduation, Jair Bolsonaro served 17 years in the Brazilian army. During this time period, Jair served as a paratrooper and later rose to the rank of a captain. Jair Bolsonaro married to Michelle.
In 1986, Jair Bolsonaro wrote an article for the popular magazine Veja. In this article, he mentioned the military pay system. This was the event when he got the attention. He faced the condemnation by his superiors. But this article was celebrated among his fellow officers and other military families. After leaving military in 1988, Bolsonaro got elected in the Rio de Janeiro city council in the year of 1989. After two years, he got elected as the representator of Rio de Janeiro in the Brazil’s federal chamber of deputies. There, he hold for seven consecutive terms. In these consecutive terms, Jair Bolsonaro got everyone’s attentions by making some controversial remarks such as, “would be incapable of loving a homosexual son” where he preferred his son to die in a car accident rather that to be seeing him with a moustachioed man. Once a female member of chamber of deputies mentioned Jair Bolsonaro a rapist. In return, Bolsonaro replied that he won’t rape her because she doesn’t deserve it.
Jair Bolsonaro was the main opponent of communism, leftism, socialism, and the gay agenda. On September 6, Bolsonaro was stabbed by the would-be assassin while campaigning in Juiz de Fora. His wounds were critical and required life saving surgery. After that, he was forced to campaign from his bed and from his home. However, till then, he became one of the most popular Politian in social media where he had 5.2 million followers in Facebook. Fortunately, for the presidential election race, the presidential candidate Lula from Worker’s party withdrew his candidacy on September 11, 2018. After his departure, Bolsonaro became the famous and favourite candidate for the Presidential Election. In the first round of voting on October 8th, 2018, Bolsonaro captured 46 percent of the vote. But it was not enough to form the government. Thus, on October 28, 2018 with Haddad, Bolsonaro swept to a commanding victory with more than 55 percent of the vote and became the 38th President of Brazil.
