Aladdin (1992)

The 2019 version is cute, arguably, however, nothing can beat the magic of the ’92 animated version of Aladdin. The movie takes you on a magical ride, no pun intended. Aladdin has an amazing storyline, catchy songs, and swoon-worthy characters. And of course, we cannot forget the hilarious scenes that still make us laugh uncontrollably.

Aladdin, a mischievous yet lovable boy falls in love with Princess Jasmin, who just by the way, is completely out of his league. While visiting the palace, he comes across a magical lamp from which a powerful Genie comes out. Both – Aladdin and Genie – begin their very unlikely friendship, however, they have one important person to deal with; Jafar, who is hellbound on overthrowing the throne of Princess Jasmin.

Famous Quote: “Sometimes We Only See How People Are Different. But If We Look Hard Enough, You Can See How Much We’re All Alike.”

Beauty and the Beast (1991)

A movie night without Beauty and the Beast? Impossible! The movie is perfect, in every sense of it. Whether it is the storyline, characters, the library (!!!), or the cute romance, Beauty and the Beast has it all. This is probably why the film was the first animated movie to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.

Belle and Beast meet under the most unexpected circumstances but what starts as a relationship purely based on hate, begins to bloom into love and care. “Never judge a book by its cover” we have all heard of this and this movie proves it by taking us on a journey of innocent and pure love.

Famous Quote: “Tale as old as time, true as it can be. Barely even friends, then somebody bends unexpectedly.”

The Lion King (1994)

If watching The Lion King does not sum up your entire childhood, then are you a fan of Disney? Loosely based on Shakespear’s Hamlet, The Lion King is purely a work of a genius. This timeless classic takes you on a emotional journey like no other. Right from the start, it has your heart pumping and to the very last scene the movie keeps you glued to your screens.

The movie followes the adventures of young lion Simba who witnesses the murder of his father Mufasa at the hands of his uncle – Scar. Simba escapes the attack and comes back years later to take revenge of his father’s death. This time he is determined to take back the throne his uncle forecefully took from his father.

Famous Quote: “And so we are all connected in the great circle of life.”

Toy Story (1995)

In all honesty, we have lost count of how many times we have watched Toy Story. No streaming session of Disney+ ever gets completed without putting on this movie. It made us believe in the unthinkable; living and talking toys. Toy Story was the first computer-animated feature film and the first feature film produced by Pixar and released on Disney.

Andy has this huge collection of living, breathing, and talking toys in his room. One of his most beloved toys; Woody begins to feel like he could get replaced any day now, since the arrival of Buzz Lightyear. Buzz believes that he is a real spaceman but both of them now have to join forces when Andy moves houses and a new neighbor – Sid – comes into the picture, who separates them from Andy.

Famous Quote: “You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity. Farewell.”

Monsters, Inc. (2001)

Not all monsters are monstrous, some are loveable and oh-so-adorable. Don’t believe us? Well, take a look at Sulley and Mike – the top scarers at Monsters, Inc. The movie is a perfect combination of humor and wholesomeness.

Monsters Incorporated is the largest scare factory in the monster world. Monsters of high caliber work there to scare the children of the human world. In this factory, James P. Sullivan proudly enjoys his reputation as one of the most intimidating monsters along with his best friend Mike Wazowski. But a visit from a little girl from the human world changes everything for them.

Famous Quote: “Just the other day someone asked who was the most beautiful monster. Do you know what I said? I said … Sulley?”
